On the planet Baab, the astronaut Scorch Supernova is a national hero, he is admired by the blue alien population. As a master of the daring rescue operation, Scorch often accomplishes the most amazing feats. He is supported in this by his much quieter brother Gary, a nerd who abides by all the rules and works for the Mission Control of the BASA base. When BASA boss Lena informed the two brothers about a call for help from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch ignored all warnings and took off. However, he soon finds himself trapped in a diabolical trap on Area 51 by the unscrupulous General Shanker. Now it is up to the otherwise risk-averse Gary to start a rescue operation. To do this, he has to leave his loved ones: Mrs. Kira and their adventurous son Kip. He is captured himself and finds his brother there. They can flee together with the others.
