Sharni Vinson (born July 22, 1983 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actress and dancer who became internationally known for her role in the dance film Step Up 3D .

biography

Sharni Vinson grew up with her mother and her parents. Her father was living in Canada at the time . As a child she attended the Australian Theater for Young People drama school for four years and danced ballet for ten years . When she was twelve, she enrolled at the Brent Street School of Performing Arts to learn to dance and sing. After a few guest appearances on television, she played a leading role in the Australian soap opera Home and Away from 2004 to 2008 .

In 2008 Vinson moved to the United States, where she initially had a few supporting roles in television series and in the film Step Up to the Streets . In 2010 she played the leading female role in the dance film Step Up 3D . In 2012 she stood next to Xavier Samuel , Julian McMahon and Phoebe Tonkin in the Australian shark horror film Bait 3D .

In addition to her acting career, she was also active as a singer and dancer, including in various musicals and with her all-girl group Fox Fire IV . In May 2013, Vinson split from Kellan Lutz after a two-year relationship .
