Performance examination regulations

The Performance Examination Regulations (LPO) are the official rules for national tournaments in riding , driving and vaulting in Germany . It is used to carry out performance tests with the purpose of promoting the sports mentioned as well as German horse breeding and keeping. The publisher of the LPO is the German Equestrian Association (FN). The LPO is binding for all natural and legal persons who prepare, supervise, carry out and participate in performance tests or horse performance tests, provided they are part of the FN.

In order to do justice to the national and international developments in tournament sport, the LPO is revised every four years by the tournament sport department of the FN and the regional associations. The current version has been valid since January 1, 2013. Interim changes and clarifications appear in calendar publications.

Since 2008, the requirements for vaulting have been removed from the LPO and are published in a separate work, the FN vaulting exercise book. There are also exercise books for riding and driving, which complement the LPO.
