action
"The Vortex" is the name of a music broadcaster's TV battle in which the best crews from all over the world compete against each other. The "ultimate prize" is a 3-year contract at the Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas , which is also where the competition takes place. After Sean's crew "The Mob" (from Step Up: Miami Heat ) struggled from one unsuccessful audition to the next after his big Nike deal in Los Angeles , all crew members except Sean gave up. He stays alone in LA trying to make the big break. He discovered a Vortex advertisement on the Internet. But Sean still doesn't have a crew to compete with. Fortunately, however, he can contact Moose and put together a new crew with the "best dancers in the world": LMNTRIX. Your application is accepted and LMNTRIX travels to Las Vegas to Caesars. But there is a big surprise waiting for the new crew: their new rivals The Grim Knights, who have already taken a job from The Mob, and The Mob are also competing in The Vortex. In the first round, LMNTRIX, The Grim Knights, The Mob and another crew called Divine Intention advance and in the second round they have to compete against each other in a knockout battle. Divine Intention is defeated by the Grim Knights and The Mob loses to LMNTRIX. At Sean and his friends' little crew party, Chad and Kido discover that Alexxa Brava, the organizer of The Vortex, staged the competition and should win The Grim Knights from the start. After this news, LMNTRIX want to give up, but instead they develop a new choreography for the finale, in which The Mob and a member of Divine Intention also dance. The spectators are thrilled and LMNTRIX win the actually staged competition and receive a 3-year contract at Caesars Palace.
Reviews
"This fifth part in the series isn't nearly as fun as the last adventure in Miami. The dialogues are even more tiring and even the dance scenes themselves paradoxically look less innovative this time." - The Guardian online film database
