Roger Pratt

Roger Pratt (born February 27, 1947 in Leicester , Great Britain ) is a British cameraman .

Life

Pratt began his film career as assistant camera in Mike Leigh's debut film Bleak Moments from 1971. In 1981 he made the Oscar-winning short film The Dollar Bottom . In 1985 he worked with Terry Gilliam on the film Brazil . Pratt and Gilliam became friends and also worked together on the two films King of the Fishermen and 12 Monkeys . In total, Pratt was involved in over 35 films. His most famous and successful include Batman , 102 Dalmatians , Chocolat , Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , Troy and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire . Pratt is not only active as a cameraman, but also starred in television films and series. His brother Vernon is a philosophy professor at Lancaster University .

Roger Pratt was nominated for an Oscar and BAFTA Award for The End of an Affair in 2000. In 2001 he was nominated by the British Society of Cinematographers and again by BAFTA for the film Chocolat . He also received two nominations from the British Society of Cinematographers for Frankenstein (1994) and Shadowlands (1993).
