Janek Sirrs (born October 20, 1965 ) is a specialist in visual effects . For his work, he was nominated three times for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects , including an Oscar in 2000 for the film Matrix .

Life

Sirrs' first work on a film was in 1988 on The Fruit Machine - Rendezvous with a Killer for director Philip Saville . In the early 1990s he worked on a variety of films, including 1492 - Conquering Paradise by Ridley Scott , for which he later worked in White Squall . The first Hollywood blockbusters followed, such as B. in 1993 Last Action Hero or the two films Braveheart and Waterworld from 1995. A highlight in Sirrs' career is working on the first two films in the Matrix trilogy.
