Ben Snow

Ben Snow (* in Nhill , Victoria , Australia ) is an Australian film technician who specializes in visual effects .

Life

Snow studied computer science and film at the University of Canberra and then went to London , where he worked for the Moving Picture Company until 1991. He then went back to Australia and became the head of computer animation for a company in Sydney . During this time he created, among other things, advertising films. At the SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles a team was sought for the trick sequences in the planned film Casper and Snow's application led to the engagement.

Snow has since been responsible for the visual effects in numerous Hollywood blockbusters and is considered one of the best visual effects supervisors in Australia. By 2011 he was nominated four times for an Oscar for best visual effects and twice for a BAFTA award .
