Ronald Pierce (sound engineer)
Ronald Pierce (born September 18, 1909 , † March 5, 2008 in Fort Mohave , Arizona , USA) was an American sound engineer .
life and career
Pierce began his career in the film Enter Arsene Lupine in 1944 , but was generally uncredited until 1960 . He was first mentioned in the credits in the film Spartacus .
In 1970 and 1973 Pierce was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Sound in the films Airport and The Clou . However, he did not win the Oscar until 1974 with the film Earthquake .
A year later, Pierce retired as a sound engineer and died at Fort Mohave at the age of 98 .
