Andrew Bergman
Andrew Bergman (born February 20, 1945 in New York City ) is an American director , screenwriter and film producer .
Life and accomplishments
Bergman graduated from Harpur College in 1965 . He was one of the writers of the script for the comedy Is' what, Sheriff? by Mel Brooks , for which he received the Writers Guild of America Award in 1975 and was nominated for the BAFTA Award . The script for the crime comedy Fletch - The Troublemaker with Chevy Chase earned him a 1986 Edgar Allan Poe Award nomination . The comedy Honeymoon in Vegas , in which he worked as a director and screenwriter, he directed with Nicolas Cage , Sarah Jessica Parker and James Caan . In 1997 he received two Golden Raspberries for the script and the direction of the film Striptease with Demi Moore .
Bergman has also emerged as a writer. Between 1974 and 2001 he published three crime novels about the private detective Jack LeVine and in 1994 the novel Sleepless Nights (Eng. Children of Innocence ). In addition, he presented in 1973 also a biography of the film actor and singer James Cagney (Eng. James Cagney. His films, his life ).
Bergman is married and has two sons. He lives in New York City.
