Eve Myles (born July 26, 1978 in Ystradgynlais , Powys ) is a Welsh actress . She is best known for her roles in the television series Belonging and Torchwood .

Life

Myles attended Ysgol Maes Y Dderwen School and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. In 2000 she moved to London.

Myles met Bradley Freegard at the National Youth Theater in 1994 and married him on May 18, 2013 in Italy. Myles and Freegard have two daughters: Matilda Myles Freegard, born on November 10, 2009 and Siena Myles Freegard, born on February 11, 2014.

From 2001 she took on a few smaller roles, including playing in a spin-off of the British series EastEnders . In 2005 she got a supporting role in an episode of Doctor Who . It was here that producer Russell T Davies discovered her talent. Regarding her as "one of Wales' best-kept secrets," Davies wrote the role of Gwen Cooper in Torchwood especially for her .

Since 2018, Myles has played the leading role in the Welsh television series Keeping Faith . The episodes will be filmed twice, in English and Welsh. Myles initially turned down the role several times because she could not speak Welsh.

Trivia

On November 14, 2014, Eve Myles is listed as the Sexiest Woman of Wales . With 40.93% of all votes, it was well ahead of second place with 18.28%.

On November 7, 2009, a list of the 50 Sexiest Women of Wales was published, with Eve Myles in seventh place.
