Tamsin Margaret M. Greig [ tæmzɪn ˈɡrɛɡ ] (born 1966 or 1967 in Kent , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Tamsin Greig was born in 1966 in Kent, the second of three daughters of a color chemist and an amateur actress . At the age of three she moved with her family to Kilburn , a borough of London . There she attended Malorees Junior School and Camden School for Girls , from which she graduated with A-Levels in English , French and math . She then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from the University of Birmingham , which she attended from 1985 to 1989. After graduating, she worked at the Family Planning Association until 1996 .

Greig lives in Kensal Green . She was raised atheist , but converted to Christianity at the age of 30 . She is also vegetarian .

In May 1997, Greig married Richard Leaf , whom she met on the set of Neverwhere . The couple has three children.

Her career as an actress began in 1991 in the radio - soap opera The Archers of the radio station BBC Radio 4 as Debbie Aldridge . As her workload increased in other areas, she decreased her activity in The Archers .

One of her first television appearances was in the miniseries Neverwhere . She had her first major role from 2000 to 2004 in the sitcom Black Books as Fran Katzenjammer . From 2004 to 2006 she played the role of Dr. Caroline Todd in the Green Wing series . The embodiment of this role earned her a 2005 Royal Television Society Award . In 2006 she also starred as Caroline in The Secret Policeman's Ball . From 2005 to 2008 the leading role followed Alice Chenery in the series Love Soup by BBC . In 2009 she held a role in The Diary of Anne Frank before she appeared in the 2010 film Always Drama Around Tamara . In 2011 she got the role of Beverly Lincoln in the series Episodes produced by the US broadcaster Showtime and the British broadcaster BBC Two . Her role is one of the main characters alongside that of Matt LeBlanc and Stephen Mangan . From 2011 to 2012 she was also seen in Friday Night Dinner and 2012 in White Heat .
