Leo McKern
Reginald Leo McKern , AO or Leo McKern (born March 16, 1920 in Sydney , † July 23, 2002 near Bath ) was an Australian actor . He has appeared in numerous British television productions, films and over 200 theater roles. He was appointed Officer of the Order of Australia in 1983.
Live and act
His first film was Murder in the Cathedral in 1952 . In 1963 he played the role of Menenius in the opening premiere of the Nottingham Playhouse in Shakespeare's Coriolanus on the side of Ian McKellen . He became known as the evil saint in the Beatles film Hi-Hi-Hilfe! In 1965 and as an exorcist Bugenhagen in the doomsday horror film The Omen in 1976. In 1989 he was named Best Actor at the London Critics Circle Film Awards .
At the age of 82 he succumbed to diabetes in a nursing home near Bath, England.
