action
The action takes place in Bohemia in the early Middle Ages . Prince Wenceslas is impressed by the teachings of his Christian grandmother. He is considered good-natured and interested in the fate of the population. His stepmother wants to have him killed so that her biological son, Wenceslas' stepbrother, can take over the crown. The support of the subjects helps Wenceslas to survive the danger.
