William Morgan Sheppard
William Morgan Sheppard (born August 24, 1932 in London - † January 6, 2019 in Los Angeles ) was a British actor .
Life
Sheppard was born in London but grew up in Ireland . In 1956 he went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , where he graduated in 1958. From 1960 he played for twelve years in the Royal Shakespeare Company . In 1966 he appeared on Broadway in the award-winning play Marat / Sade . Sheppard got his first film role in 1962 in the film Strongroom . After that he only had guest appearances in television series and small roles in films, but still devoted himself to theater work. In 1977 he took on a small role in Ridley Scott's The Duelists . It was followed by other film roles and a supporting role in the three Golden Globes winning miniseries Shogun alongside Richard Chamberlain . In 1987 he got a supporting role in the television series Max Headroom , which was discontinued after two seasons due to insufficient audience numbers. In the subsequent film work, he can usually be seen in smaller roles - most recently in the eleventh part of the Star Trek film series .
In addition to film roles, he had several guest appearances in various television series such as Babylon 5 , MacGyver , Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone , Alias - Die Agentin , Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager , Navy CIS and Charmed - Magic Witches .
He also made his voice available for computer games. For example in some parts of Medal of Honor , as well as in 2002 for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty , 2004 for The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and 2009 for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena .
In 2010, he achieved fame in the English-speaking computer game community through his involvement in the critically acclaimed strategy game Sid Meier's Civilization V , which was published that year . More than 10 million copies of the game were sold worldwide, and for a long time it was the most played game by a secondary developer on the world's largest (2019) video game distribution platform, Steam .
His son is the actor Mark Sheppard , both played the different old versions of the Canton Everett Delaware III in 2011 in the season opener for the sixth season Doctor Who .
