David Oyelowo OBE (born April 1, 1976 in Oxford , Oxfordshire , England ) is a British actor .

Life

Oyelowo's parents are from Nigeria . First he attended a youth theater, then he took a course in theater studies at City and Islington College . One year after graduating from high school, Oyelowo got a place at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art ( LAMDA ), and in 1998 he completed his three-year training.

He has been a film and television actor since 1998. 1999 began his stage career in the Royal Shakespeare Company , where he played various roles. From 2002 to 2004 he played in the television series Spooks - In the sights of MI5 as the junior agent Danny Hunter . In 2011 he was seen in the science fiction film Planet of the Apes: Prevolution . In 2012 he appeared on the side of Tom Cruise , Rosamund Pike and Richard Jenkins in the film adaptation of the novel Jack Reacher .

In 2007 he received a Satellite Award for his performance in the five days in mini-series . The Royal Television Society honored him with the 2010 RTS Television Award. In 2014 he took on the role of Martin Luther King in Ava DuVernay's drama Selma , and in 2016 in A United Kingdom the role of Seretse Khama , King- elect of Bechuanaland (Botswana) .

At the New Year's ceremony in 2016, Oyelowo was appointed Officer of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II . Oyelowo moderated the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in honor of the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize , the anti-nuclear campaign ican .

He is married to actress Jessica Oyelowo , with whom he has four children. You live in Los Angeles.
