A Sound of Thunder is a science fiction film from the year 2005 of Peter Hyams . The script is based on the short story of the same name by Ray Bradbury .

The film was originally scheduled to be released in 2002. Due to delays in filming caused by the Elbe floods in the Czech Republic, as well as financial problems for the production company, A Sound of Thunder was not released until three years later.
