Julian Glover
Julian Wyatt Glover CBE (born March 27, 1935 in London ) is a British actor .
biography
Glover was born in Hampstead, London, to Honor Ellen Morgan and Claude Gordon Glover, a BBC radio producer. The musician Robert Wyatt is his half-brother. He attended schools in Bristol and Dulwich and was also a classmate of other actors such as Timothy West and David Prowse . He then completed an actor training at the theater in London and became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company , with which he appeared in numerous plays in the 1950s.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Glover appeared in various TV series such as Doctor Who and Simon Templar, as well as in first films such as The Green Blood of Demons . In the 1980s, he became increasingly known when he played the role of General Veers in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. In 1972 he was considered as James Bond to succeed Sean Connery , but ultimately Roger Moore was hired, with whom he starred in the movie James Bond 007: A Deadly Mission . He was also starred in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) with Harrison Ford .
He was also involved in the love film Das Buch Eva - Ticket ins Paradies (2002) and the crime comedy Big Nothing (2006). He also voiced Aragog in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002). From 2011 to 2016 he starred in HBO's fantasy series Game of Thrones , based on George RR Martin's successful novel The Song of Ice and Fire , in the role of Grand Maester Pycelle .
Glover was married to actress Eileen Atkins from 1957 to 1966 . He has been married to Isla Blair since 1968 , who also played his wife in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade . With her he has a son named Jamie Glover , who also works as an actor.
