Tracy Ifeachor

Chinwe Tracy Ifeachor (born February 13, 1985 in Plymouth , England ) is a British actress .

life and career

Tracy Ifeachor was born in Plymouth in 1985 to parents of Nigerian descent. She is a devout Christian and has a younger sister. In her youth she attended Eggbuckland Community College in her hometown and gained her first experience as a stage actress with the Theater Royal Plymouth's Young Company. After she was named Senior Verse Speaking Champion of the South-West at the age of 15, she wanted to go to drama school at the age of 16, but was convinced by her father, a professor of electrical engineering, to finish regular school first. After graduating from high school , she took a year off to audition at drama schools. She first attended the Raleigh School of Speech and Drama in Plymouth and finally received a scholarship to the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London , which she graduated with honors.

Ifeachor then worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company , with whom she made her stage debut as Minerva in Noughts & Crosses . Later, she was in the Curve Theater in Leicester in Shakespeare's As You Like to see and received a nomination for her performance for Ian Charleson Award . At that time, she was accepted for a role in the British television series Doctor Who , in which she was seen in the double episode The End of Time . She had previously made her television debut in the series Casualty . In 2010 she was part of the ensemble for the play A Raisin in the Sun , which was performed in Manchester . She was also in Welcome to Thebes by director Richard Eyre at the Royal National Theater to see. As a result, Ifeachor turned more to television, appearing in guest or supporting roles on the series Strike Back , The Cop - Crime Scene Paris , Hawaii Five-0 , The Originals , Quantico and Legends of Tomorrow . She got her first leading role in 2014 in the adventure series Crossbones ; a second time she was part of the main cast in the action series Treadstone in 2019 .

Ifeachor alternates between her residences in New York City , where she volunteers in a soup kitchen, and England , where her family lives. She is also involved in the Geanco aid organization in Ghana , which aims to make education accessible to girls.
