Patrick Godfrey

Patrick Lindesay Archibald Godfrey (born February 13, 1933 in London ) is a British film and television actor.

life and career

Godfrey was born to Pastor Frederick Godfrey and his wife Louis Mary Gladys. Since the late 1950s he was regularly active on British television, he was also active as a stage actor. After he rarely appeared in films at first, he appeared as a supporting actor in many British film productions from the 1980s. Well-known films in which he starred are for example the James Ivory films Zimmer mit Aussicht (1985), Maurice (1987) and What was left of the day (1993). Otherwise he played mostly in films with a historical background, such as Monte Cristo (2002) and Forever and Forever (1998), in the latter he played the role of Leonardo da Vinci . He also had guest appearances on television series such as Doctor Who , Inspector Barnaby and Inspector Morse .

He has been married to actress Amanda Walker since April 20, 1960 and has two children with her.
