David Warner
David Warner (born July 29, 1941 in Manchester , England ) is a British actor .
Early life
Warner was born in Manchester, England, to a British mother and a Russian-Jewish father. Warner described his childhood as very chaotic, as his father changed jobs very often and the family often moved from one city to the next. Warner attended eight different schools and said he failed all of them. His parents separated when he was a teenager and Warner didn't see his mother again until seven years later on her deathbed.
Career
After a number of different professions, he was accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) where he felt very unhappy. After RADA, he became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and began his work at the Royal Court Theater , where he played a first minor role in a production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in 1962 . This was followed by other theater appearances in plays such as Der Sturm , Julius Caesar and Richard II. In the latter, Warner embodied the main role.
Warner made his screen debut in 1963 with the film Tom Jones - Between Bed and Gallows . With the title role in Protest in 1966 and two years later in Peter Hall's A Midsummer Night's Dream , he became known to a wider audience at the age of 24. In the 1970s he played major roles in films such as The Omen , The 39 Steps (1978) and Escape into the Future . In the 1980s, productions like Time Bandits , Tron and Charles Dickens' Christmas Story followed .
In the 1990s, Warner had some of his best-known cinema roles in successful film productions such as Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Land (1991) and Titanic (1997). Since 2000, Warner has appeared less often in cinema and mainly in television productions. He appeared in isolated episodes of series such as Mad Dogs , Doctor Who and Penny Dreadful . Since 2001 he has also been more active on the theater stage and played again in Shakespeare plays such as King Lear and Henry IV .
Warner starred three times in films related to the sinking of the Titanic : 1979 in SOS Titanic as Lawrence Beesley , 1981 in Time Bandits as " Evil " and 1997 in James Cameron's Titanic as Spicer Lovejoy . Warner also played the role of Reinhard Heydrich twice : 1978 in the mini-series Holocaust - The History of the Weiss Family and 1985 in the television film Hitler's SS: Portrait in Evil . In addition, Warner was also often active as a voice actor and lent characters in various cartoon series such as Batman: The Animated Series , New Spider-Man and Gargoyles - On the Wings of Justice his voice.
