The Monument Generaal Gavinstraat in Groesbeek , Netherlands , was built by Cees Hectors and inaugurated on May 5th 1987 in the Generaal Gavinstraat.

The memorial , made from a star-shaped natural stone , is intended to commemorate Lieutenant General James M. Gavin , who landed with his units at Groesbeek as commander of the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Market Garden on September 17, 1944.

On June 15, 1994, shortly before the 50th anniversary of the airborne operation, Gavin's widow Jean visited the monument with their daughter Barbara Gavin Fauntleroy and their granddaughter.
