The 19-year-old Englishwoman Julie looks after the child of an Italian couple. The child dies in the fire, the cause of which cannot be determined. Julie is charged with the murder and goes to court. It turns out that she has supernatural powers that often work independently of Julie's will. The case broke in the media referring to Julie as a witch . A young lawyer stands up for them.

Film-Dienst wrote that the film is a “mystery thriller that is based on an authentic process” and poses the question of paranormal events” that “cannot be scientifically explained” .

Awards

Kenneth Hope was nominated in 2001 for the Golden Calf of the Dutch Film Festival and for a prize at the Cherbourg-Octeville Festival of Irish & British Film .
