Fiona Shaw , CBE (* 10. July 1958 as Fiona Mary Wilson in Cobh , County Cork ) is an Irish film and theater actress .

biography

The daughter of an ophthalmologist and a physicist, studied philosophy at University College Cork and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art . In 1996 she spent two weeks in a Benedictine monastery . The diary she kept of her experiences during this period was broadcast in the UK on BBC Radio 4 . She currently lives in London . Today she is openly gay and married to Sonali Deraniyagala .

Career

Fiona Shaw is one of the most famous theater actresses in Great Britain and made a name for herself above all as a performer of classic plays.
