Killing Eve is a British television series broadcast by BBC America . The series adapted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge is based on the Villanelle novels by the author Luke Jennings. The main roles of the series play Jodie Comer as the international hit man Villanelle and Sandra Oh as the British agent Eve Polastri, who is the first to follow her. From then on, the two women hunted each other and at the same time developed an ever increasing fascination for one another.

The American Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh), who is married to a Pole in London and an MI5 officer who is mostly tied to her desk , is the first to recognize that there must be a woman behind a series of contract killings across Europe. She is promoted to head of a small, secret undercover unit that has only one goal, namely to find and locate this killer (Jodie Comer) in order to get her clients through her. On the one hand, Eve is getting closer and closer to the mysterious Oksana, who calls herself Villanelle and lives in Paris, on the other hand, she has to face severe setbacks, such as the murder of her long-time boss and friend Bill by the sociopathic hitman in Berlin or the exposure of a former colleague as Mole. Soon the two women begin to become obsessed with each other.

Production and broadcast
The first season of the series was ordered by the broadcaster in November 2016 and aired from April 8, 2018. Even before it was first broadcast, the series was extended by a second season. One day after the premiere of the second season, the series was extended by AMC Networks for a third season. The series has been available for streaming in German-speaking countries since February 22, 2019 on StarzPlay , via Prime Video and Apple TV .
In January 2020, before the third season aired, BBC America ordered a fourth season of the series.

The first season of the series was released in German-speaking countries, published by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, on April 4, 2019 on DVD.

The British newspaper The Guardian chose Killing Eve for best television series in 2018: "It is thanks to probably the influence of (Phoebe) Waller-Bridge that Killing Eve , with all the stress, the shocks and the blood, above all, very, very human and is very, very funny. Awards
The series received the Peabody Award and the British Academy Television Award for Best Drama Series in 2019 . She was also nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy in the same category in 2019 . Leading actress Jodie Comer won the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series, Sandra Oh won the Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award , the Critics' Choice Television Award and received two Emmy nominations. Fiona Shaw also received an Emmy nomination and won the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress.
