Jodie Marie Comer (born March 11, 1993 in Liverpool , England ) is a British television and film actress . In German-speaking countries she is known as Chloe Gemell in My Mad Fat Diary and as Kate Parks in Doctor Foster . They also starred in the British miniseries Thirteen and as Elizabeth of York in the series The White Princess the transmitter Starz . Her international breakthrough she experienced with her role as a psychopathic assassin in the television series Killing Eve radio station BBC America , for it with a 2019 Emmy Award.

life and career

Jodie Comer was born in Liverpool. She took acting classes at St. Julie's Catholic High School in Woolton, Liverpool. She took on her first role in a radio play after an agent advised her to apply for it. Her actual acting career began in 2008 when she received a guest role on The Royal Today , a spin-off from the hospital series The Royal . She became internationally known for the role of the hit man Villanelle in the series Killing Eve , based on the character of the same name from Luke Jennings' Villanelle novels.
