Walo Lüönd (1974)

Walo Lüönd (born April 13, 1927 in Zug ; † June 17, 2012 in Locarno ; resident in Rothenthurm ) was a Swiss actor . He was best known for his leading roles in the films Dällebach Kari and Die Schweizermacher on the side of Emil Steinberger and the role of Rodriguez in the ARD series On Axis .

Life

Walo Lüönd was the son of the pastry chef Oswald Lüönd. He went to school in Zug and learned the craft of a men's tailor from 1942 to 1946. He had his first appearances in 1949 at the Schauspielhaus and at the Cabaret Fédéral in Zurich. From 1962 he also worked for television and film. He had been married to actress Eva-Maria Bendig since 1957 and had two sons, Daniel (1957–1987) and Oliver (* 1958). Lüönd spent the last years of his life in the canton of Ticino .

Walo Lüönd was buried in the Schachen community cemetery in Untersiggenthal , Canton Aargau .
