Zurich Film Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zurich Film Prize (also known as the City of Zurich Film Prize ) is an award for special achievements in the field of independent filmmaking and audiovisual media, which is awarded annually by the City of Zurich .

The prize can be awarded to both films and filmmakers. The prerequisite is that the authors or producers of the film are based in the canton of Zurich or that the films are closely related to the canton of Zurich. Independent productions from the fields of feature, documentary, animation and experimental films that have been made for the cinema can be submitted. TV films are only permitted in exceptional cases; instructional, advertising, public relations and exercise films are generally excluded.

The jury is a five-person film commission, which consists of representatives of Zurich filmmaking, film critics, the presidential department (cultural department) and film cultural organizations.
