Dene wos guet geit (English title: Those who are fine ) is a feature film by Swiss director Cyril Schäublin from the year 2017 . The title of the film quotes the song "Dene wos guet geit" by the Swiss chansonnier Mani Matter .

action

Alice Türli works in a call center in Zurich. She sells internet and health insurance offers to strangers on the other end of the line. After work, she calls single grandmothers and pretends that she is their granddaughter and is in need of money. With this grandchildren's trick , she can steal 50,000 francs. The people involved in Zurich talk to each other via health insurances, mobile phone service providers or film deals or pass through numerical codes. The call center agent is arrested in a second grandchildren fraud.

Reviews

The film was shown at over 30 international film festivals and was seen by over 11,000 viewers in Switzerland's cinemas.

The film received positive reviews in Switzerland and internationally:

“All of this is so strong because it is presented laconically and told without a didactic hint with the fence post: Often kept at a distance by the quiet camera that puts us in the role of voyeurs, we simply observe. We hear the fragmentary dialogues and draw our conclusions - without being chewed ten times what to think of it. This courage to rely entirely on what is shown is all too often missed in local filmmaking. (...) A brilliant debut. "

- Urs Bühler : Neue Zürcher Zeitung

“Funny and subversive. The film by director Cyril Schäublin is a grotesque capitalism. "

“A delightful, dry comedy. (A delightful, dry comedy.) "

- Calum Marsh : The Village Voice

"A formally striking study of an atomized society. (A formally impressive study of an atomized society.) "

- Jessica Kiang : Variety

"Sly, subtle humor. (Smart, subtle humor.) "

- Frank Scheck : The Hollywood Reporter

"The most surprising Swiss feature film in years."

- Pascal Blum : Tages-Anzeiger
