Richard Dindo

Richard Dindo (born June 5, 1944 in Zurich ) is a Swiss documentary filmmaker of Italian descent. He lives in Zurich and Paris . Because of his meticulous, emotionally engaged research, he is also called a “legal filmmaker”.

Career

Raised the son of a construction worker of Italian origin who was born in Zurich , he moved to Paris in 1966, where he was confronted with the 1968 movement two years later . This encounter shaped him strongly. Together with Fredi M. Murer and Alexander J. Seiler, he was one of the defining filmmakers in Swiss film at the time.

He has a brother, a sister and three daughters.

Awards

His documentary Grüningers Fall (1997) about the Swiss police officer and escape helper Paul Grüninger was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize in 1998 .

Filmography

Richard Dindo also worked on the script for the documentary AIDS - Live As Long As You Can ( Alain Klarer , 1988).
