Kay Sabban (born July 26, 1952 ; † August 6, 1992 in Hamburg ) was a German actor .

Sabban worked as an actor on stage, in film and television. He played in numerous series such as the crime scene , Hotel Paradies in the role of Peter , Insel der Träume and St. Pauli Landungsbrücken . He also worked for radio and dubbing.

He became known to a wide audience primarily through the role of motorcycle policeman Neithardt Köhler , which he played in the television series Großstadtrevier from 1986 to 1992 . Sabban died unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism while filming episode 55 ( Zapfenstreich ) . His fellow actors dedicated this episode to him, in the opening credits of which they remembered him with a dedication text. The role of motorcycle policeman has not been cast again since then.

He left behind a daughter born in 1987 and his partner. Before this partnership, he was married to actress Carolin van Bergen for two years from December 23, 1983 . He was buried in the family grave in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg.
