content

After a few jobs and hobbies, Hilde Sonntag works in a boutique as a tailor for changes at Frau Treuwert and one day has the chance to join her as a partner. Her husband Franz works for BVG and drives the large double-decker bus across Berlin . The Sunday couple have two grown children, Knut and Karin. Hilde's mother Mathilde also lives in the house.

Son Knut is a car mechanic who cannot decide between his friends Beatrice and Nora. After his fatal accident, they move into a new house on Sundays, where they take Elmar Schindler as a subtenant, whose brother Waldi would also like to move in. Karin has changing friends and one day ends up with the student Hans-Hermann, who, however, is still engaged and takes over Schindler's room when he moves out again.

criticism

Barbara Sichtermann from Die Zeit writes quite soberly: “With 'Immer wieder Sonntag', a family series in the petty bourgeois milieu, the ZDF has actually made its way into the market, at least one should believe it. Because what Berlin actually offers: scenes of shocking scruffiness, forlornness and fragility, that this series ignores with curious indolence. […] You don't create a Berlin atmosphere if you limit yourself to having the people say Saturday instead of Saturday and Schrippen instead of bread, and that several times per episode. What fascinates about Berlin is its large, old, broken, heterogeneous conglomerate of houses. Anyone who does not dare to go into it - a cowardice that is incomprehensible to eye beasts such as cameramen and television directors - who does not feel the charm of this enormous backdrop should not design 'Berlin' series.
