Simone Rethel-Heesters (born June 15, 1949 in Herrsching am Ammersee ) is a German actress and book author .

Simone Rethel is the daughter of the painter and designer Alfred Rethel and granddaughter of the aircraft designer Walter Rethel and a descendant of the history painter Otto Rethel , brother of Alfred Rethel .

As a schoolgirl, she played the lead role in the 1965 film Die fromme Helene , directed by Axel von Ambesser (with Theo Lingen and Friedrich von Thun ). After finishing school, she trained as an actor with Hanna Burgwitz and made her debut in 1966 at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich in Die Freier by Joseph von Eichendorff - again directed by Axel von Ambesser, who repeatedly made his discovery for the stage and television hired for various roles.

At the beginning of 2010, Rethel-Heesters published the non-fiction book Say Never, You're Too Old , in which she criticized the negative social image of getting older.
