Rodrigo Zalazar Martínez (born August 12, 1999 in Albacete ) is a Uruguayan - Spanish football player . The central midfielder is under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt and plays on loan at FC St. Pauli . He is a former Uruguayan U20 international .
Career
societies
Zalazar began playing football in 2007 at Albacete Balompié , where his father, the former Uruguayan national team player José Luis Zalazar (* 1963), had also played for seven years. In 2015 he moved to FC Málaga , for whose youth teams he then played with the exception of a loan in the 2016/17 season. For the 2019/20 season, Zalazar moved to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt , with whom he signed a four-year contract. Three days after this commitment, he was awarded for a year to the Polish first division club Korona Kielce . There Zalazar made his professional football debut on July 20, 2019 in a 1-0 away win in the league game against Raków Częstochowa . At the end of April 2020, the central midfielder returned to Eintracht prematurely due to a season break forced by the COVID-19 pandemic .
For the 2020/21 season he was awarded for one year to the German second division club FC St. Pauli .
National team
Zalazar played with the Uruguayan U20 national team at the U20 South American Championship in Chile in early 2019 . He was used seven times in the tournament and took third place with his team. In total, Zalazar completed 19 games for the selection and scored one goal.
