Robin Himmelmann (born February 5, 1989 in Moers ) is a German soccer goalkeeper who has been under contract with FC St. Pauli since the 2012/13 season .

Career

Himmelmann began his career at SV Scherpenberg, TV Asberg, SV Straelen , VfL Repelen and 1. FC Union Solingen before moving to Rot-Weiss Essen's youth department in 2007 . From 2008 he was part of the squad of the first team playing in the Regionalliga West . After the bankruptcy of Rot-Weiss Essen in the summer of 2010, he moved to FC Schalke 04 , with whose second team he also played in the Regionalliga West. In July 2012 he signed a two-year contract with FC St. Pauli. This was extended in January 2014 to the end of June 2016. At FC St. Pauli, he played his first appearance in the 2nd Bundesliga on May 19, 2013 in the away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern (2-1) . For the second half of the 2014/15 season , Himmelmann was declared number 1, replacing Philipp Tschauner , who was number 1 until then.
