Christian Viet (born March 27, 1999 ) is a German soccer player . He can be used defensively and offensively and is under contract with FC St. Pauli .

Career

Viet was trained in a youth development association for which the Lower Saxon clubs SV Ahlerstedt / Ottendorf and Heeslinger SC were responsible, before he moved to the youth training center of FC St. Pauli in January 2017 . Until the end of the 2016/17 season , Vieth played in the A-Juniors (U19) in the A-Juniors Bundesliga . He started the 2017/18 season with the U19, for which he played 14 times (2 goals) until the winter break. After the winter break, Vieth was part of the squad of the second team, for which he had already played a game in the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nord in September and November . 15 more regional league appearances followed by the end of the season; for the U19 Vieth came to another assignment in March. On the last day of the match, Viet was under head coach Ewald Lienen in the professional team for the first time, but was not substituted on. In the junior Bundesliga he played exclusively on the left offensive wing, in the second men's team, however, in defense and in defensive midfield. For the 2018/19 season, Vieth moved up to the regional league squad. As a result, Viet also held changing positions in the U23 and played 21 league games this season (20 times from the start).

Vieth was also part of the second team's squad in the 2019/20 season . Until March, when the season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he had played 18 games (13 times from the start) and scored 2 goals. In contrast to the regional league , the 2nd Bundesliga was continued from mid-May, whereupon Vieth was regularly nominated for the second division squad by head coach Jos Luhukay from matchday 26. On matchday 30, the 21-year-old was in the starting line-up in the 2-0 draw against VfL Bochum in front of center-back Marvin Senger , who also made his debut, and alongside Johannes Flum in defensive midfield and was replaced after an hour. On the 31st, 33rd and 34th matchdays, Viet was also used from the start and held positions in various game systems in the offensive as well as in the central midfield.

For the 2020/21 season , Vieth and Senger received a professional contract valid until June 2023.
