Philipp Ziereis (born March 14, 1993 in Schwarzhofen ) is a German football player . He has been under contract with FC St. Pauli in the second division since July 1, 2013. Here he plays in central defense.

Career

Philipp Ziereis started playing soccer at SV Schwarzhofen in his home in Upper Palatinate when he was five and moved to SSV Jahn Regensburg at the age of fourteen . There he went through the other youth teams. In 2009 he was appointed to the Bavarian team and one year later he became the South German champion.

At the age of 17, Ziereis was the first substitute for the professionals in the third division and in the 2011/12 season he was included in the first team's squad. In the DFB Cup match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on July 29, 2011, the central defender played his first competitive game for Regensburg over the full season. On the second day of the match, after a substitution in the final minutes, he also had his first short appearance in the third division season 2011/12 . At the end of the second half of the season he came into play more often and when the team reached third place, he was in the starting line-up in the following two relegation games. In the end, Karlsruher SC was narrowly defeated and Regensburg was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga .

For the 2013/14 season , Ziereis moved to FC St. Pauli . He signed a three-year contract with the second division team until June 30, 2016.
