Christopher "Jackson" Avevor (born February 11, 1992 in Kiel ) is a German football player who is used in defense and defensive midfield.

Life

His father Hope comes from Ghana and his mother Manuela is from Germany . He was born in Kiel and grew up in the village of Felmerholz (municipality of Felm ) northwest of Kiel.

Career

The defender began his career at Eckernförde IF , a sports club of the Danish minority in Eckernförde , but moved to Eckernförde SV early (2004) . In 2006, the then 14-year-old Avevor joined the youth team from Holstein Kiel . After two successful years in Kiel, he was finally signed by Hannover 96 . There he was looked after by the youth training center.

For the 2010/11 season Avevor received a professional contract and has since been in the Bundesliga squad of Hannover 96. On September 18, 2010 he made his first division debut in the away game against VfL Wolfsburg after several injury-related failures in the defense of Hannover 96 . Four more missions were added by the end of the season.

In the 2011/12 season he was only used for the away game at Hertha BSC. In the 36th minute he was substituted on for the injured Christian Schulz. Hannover 96 won the game 1-0 with a goal from Mohammed Abdellaoue . In the group stage of the 2011/12 Europa League , he came on as a substitute in the 3-1 win against Vorskla Poltava .

In mid-August 2012 he was loaned to the second division FC St. Pauli for the 2012/13 season. On the 11th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga Avevor scored the interim 2-2 draw against Dynamo Dresden and thus his first goal of the season for Hamburg.

In June 2014, he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf , where he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2016. Here coach Oliver Reck began to use him as a six . At the end of May 2016 it was announced that Avevor is going back to FC St. Pauli for the new season. His contract runs until 2019.

Avevor will appear as team captain of FC St. Pauli at the start of the 2019/20 Bundesliga.

Since 2011 Christopher Avevor has been involved in Show Racism the Red Card - Deutschland e. V. In October he took part in a workshop of the education initiative and reported to the students about his own experiences with racism and discrimination .
