Mohammed "Moa" Abdellaoue , Arabic محمد عبد اللاوي, DMG Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Lāwī , [ muˈħamːad ʕabdaˈlːaːwiː ], (born October 23, 1985 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian football player .
The striker , who made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 2008 , has played in the top divisions in Norway and Germany. For the Norwegian national team, he played 33 games and scored seven goals.
Family and birth
Abdellaoue's family comes from Morocco . The grandfather emigrated to Norway for work and brought his family to join him. Mohammed Abdellaoue himself was born in 1985 in the Norwegian capital Oslo . His younger brother Mustafa Abdellaoue plays for FC Copenhagen and his cousin Omar Elabdellaoui plays for Olympiacos .
Career

Career start
Abdellaoue started playing soccer when he was five or six. He joined Hasle-Løren IL at the age of eight and joined Skeid Oslo at the age of twelve . At the same time, Abdellaoue began training in sports science at Bjerke videregående skole , a secondary school that Daniel Braaten , Gunnar Halle and Erik Johnsen had also attended. In 2004 he successfully completed his training.
In 2003 Abdellaoue moved up to the squad of the men's team from Skeid, which played in the Adeccoligaen . Through his achievements - in six second division games he scored five goals - he played his way into the circle of the Norwegian youth national teams. In his second year in the second division, the striker established himself as a top performer and was the team's top scorer with 13 goals this season. In the following season, Abdellaoue was often injured. He was relegated to the third division with his club and immediately promoted again the next year. The attacker was also one of the regular players in the subsequent second division season; he scored nine goals this season and relegated again with Skeid.
Vålerenga IF
At the age of 20, Abdellaoue went to Vålerenga Oslo . At his new employer in the first Norwegian league, he was initially only a supplementary player, but soon established himself as a regular in the first division team. In both the league and the cup, he was then a regular goal scorer. Thanks to his good performance, Abdellaoue was nominated by national coach Åge Hareide for the Norwegian senior team. On August 20, 2008, he made his debut in the 1-1 draw against the Irish national team in the starting line-up before being replaced by Christian Grindheim in the 81st minute , and received good reviews.
Ultimately, Abdellaoue led the club's internal goalscorer list at the end of the season with nine league goals ahead of Bengt Sæternes and Daniel Fredheim Holm . Although only the tenth place in the league jumped out, in the cup competition, however, managed to reach the finals. There he contributed with two goals - he scored a total of seven goals in the six rounds of the cup competition - to the 4-1 success against Master Stabæk IF and thus to the cup victory. Although he was subsequently associated with several clubs, he initially stayed with Vålerenga IF.
At the renewed encounter against Stabæk IF on the occasion of the Norwegian Supercup the following year, he scored the only goal for his team in the 1: 3 defeat. In the following season he plagued himself again and again with minor injuries, so that he contributed to reaching seventh place in the table with only six goals during the season.
In the 2010 season , Abdellaoue found his way back to good form under coach Martin Andresen and was a regular goalscorer. So he helped his club to a place in the top group of the championship until the summer break on the occasion of the 2010 World Cup .
Hannover 96
For the 2010/11 season , Abdellaoue moved to the German Bundesliga club Hannover 96 . There he signed a four-year contract and was given the shirt number 25. In his first game for Hannover 96 on August 28, 2011, he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 2-1 win against FC Schalke 04 on matchday 1 . At the end of the 2010/11 season, 96 (which had been considered a relegation candidate before the season) took fourth place in the table, which qualified for participation in the play-off round of the Europa League . Abdellaoue contributed to this success in 26 Bundesliga games with ten goals.
In the following season, Hanover moved into the quarter-finals of the Europa League and occupied seventh place in the league table, which was sufficient to participate in the Europa League qualifying round again. In his second season, Abdellaoue played 28 times in the Bundesliga and scored eleven goals. In 14 international competitive games (play-offs to the quarter-finals Europa League) he played twelve times for 96 in the 2011/12 season and scored three goals on the international stage.
VfB Stuttgart
For the 2013/14 season , Abdellaoue moved within the league to VfB Stuttgart . He signed a four-year contract.
Return to Vålerenga Oslo
On August 7, 2015, Abdellaoue returned to Vålerenga Oslo . His contract ran until 2019, but on December 7, 2017, he had to end his active career due to an injury.
National team
Abdellaoue completed six games for the Norwegian U-18 national team and one game each for the U-19 and for the Norwegian U-21 national team .
On August 20, 2008 he played for the first time for the Norwegian national team in a 1-1 draw in Oslo against Ireland . With the national team, he did not qualify for the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine or for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil . Abdellaoue played his last game for the national team on March 28, 2015 at a 1: 5 in the European Championship qualifier against Croatia in Zagreb . He played a total of 33 games in which he scored seven goals.
