Prémery is a French commune with 1,838 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire and the canton of La Charité-sur-Loire .
geography
The municipality is located in the Nivernais landscape on the Nièvre d'Arzembouy , a left, eastern tributary of the Nièvre , around 20 kilometers northeast of Nevers , where the water system flows into the Loire from the right . The agriculturally used river valley near Prémery is accompanied by forest areas on both sides. Neighboring communities are:
- Giry in the north,
- Oulon in the northeast,
- Lurcy-le-Bourg in the east,
- Nolay in the south,
- Sichamps in the southwest,
- La Celle-sur-Nièvre to the west and
- Dompierre-sur-Nièvre in the north-west.
