Pougny is about seven kilometers east-southeast of the city center of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire . Pougny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Loup in the north, Alligny-Cosne in the northeast, Donzy in the east, Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain in the south and Saint-Père in the west and northwest.
