Dampierre-sous-Bouhy is a French municipality with 457 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire and the canton of Pouilly-sur-Loire (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye ). The inhabitants are called Dampierrois .

Dampierre-sous-Bouhy is located about 46 kilometers southwest of Auxerre in the natural landscape of Puisaye between the Loire and Yonne rivers . Dampierre-sous-Bouhy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye in the north and north-west, Treigny-Perreuse-Sainte-Colombe with Treigny in the north and north-east, Bouhy in the east, Ciez in the south and Bitry in the west.
