Treigny is a village with 734 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French commune Treigny-Perreuse-Sainte-Colombe in Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
The formerly independent municipality of Treigny merged with the municipality of Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing to form the Commune nouvelle Treigny-Perreuse-Sainte-Colombe with effect from January 1, 2019 and has since had the status of a Commune déléguée . The municipality of Treigny belonged to the arrondissement of Auxerre and the canton of Vincelles (until 2015: canton of Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye ).
geography
Treigny is about 42 kilometers west-southwest of Auxerre . Treigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Moutiers-en-Puisaye in the north, Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing in the east and northeast, Lainsecq in the east, Sainpuits in the southeast, Bouhy in the south, Dampierre-sous-Bouhy in the south and southwest and Saint- Amand-en-Puisaye to the west.
history
In 1972 the previously independent municipalities of Perreuse and Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing were attached to the municipality of Treigny. Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing retired in 1976.
