The Communauté de communes de Puisaye-Forterre is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the departments of Yonne and Nièvre the Region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . The community association was founded on October 25, 2016 and currently comprises 57 communities. The administrative headquarters are in Saint-Fargeau . A special feature is the cross-departmental structure of the member communities.

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

as well as access from four other municipalities from the former Communauté de communes du Pays Coulangeois and another without previous association allocation.

With effect from January 1, 2018, five municipalities left the local association and joined the Communauté de communes Haut Nivernais-Val d'Yonne in the neighboring Nièvre department .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Treigny and Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing became part of the Commune nouvelle Treigny-Perreuse-Sainte-Colombe . This reduced the number of member communities to 57.
