Villiers-Saint-Benoît is located in the Puisaye region , about 27 kilometers west of Auxerre on the Ouanne and Vrin . Villiers-Saint-Benoît is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sommecaise in the north, Le Val d'Ocre in the northeast, Merry-la-Vallée in the east, Toucy in the southeast, Dracy in the south, Tannerre-en-Puisaye in the southwest, and Champignelles in the west Southwest and Charny Orée de Puisaye in the west and northwest.
