Bonnard is about fifteen kilometers north-northwest of Auxerre on the Yonne , which borders the municipality in the west and into which the Serein flows here. Bonnard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cheny in the north and east, Beaumont in the south and south-east and Bassou in the west.
