Chitry is about nine kilometers east-southeast of Auxerre . Chitry is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Venoy in the north and north-west, Courgis in the north and east, Saint-Cyr-les-Colons in the south and south-east, Saint-Bris-le-Vineux in the south and south-west and Quenne in the west.
