Branches is about eight kilometers northwest of Auxerre . Branches is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Valravillon in the north and west, Chichery in the northeast, Appoigny in the east, Charbuy in the south, Fleury-la-Vallée in the west and southwest.
The Auxerre-Branches airport is located in the municipality and the A6 autoroute runs through the municipality .
