Germigny is about 21 kilometers northeast of Auxerre . The Canal de Bourgogne runs through the municipality . The small river Armançon limits the municipality to the south. Germigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beugnon in the north, Soumaintrain in the northeast, Butteaux in the east and southeast, Jaulges in the south, Chéu in the south and southwest and Saint-Florentin in the west.
