Héry is a French commune with 1,809 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auxerre and the canton Saint-Florentin (until 2015: canton Seignelay ). The inhabitants are called Héryssois .

geography

Héry is about twelve kilometers north-northeast of Auxerre . The Serein River crosses the municipality to the north . Héry is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mont-Saint-Sulpice in the north, Vergigny in the northeast, Rouvray in the east, Montigny-la-Resle in the southeast, Villeneuve-Saint-Salves in the south, Monéteau in the south and southwest, Gurgy in the southwest, Seignelay in the West as well as Hauterive in the northwest.
