Villefargeau is a French commune in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté with 1,107 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017). Villefargeau is located in the arrondissement of Auxerre and belongs to the canton Auxerre-1 (until 2015: canton Auxerre-Sud-Ouest ).
geography
Villefargeau is located about five kilometers west-southwest of the city center of Auxerre on the small river Baulche , a tributary of the Yonne . Villefargeau is surrounded by the neighboring communities Charbuy in the north and north-west, Saint-Georges-sur-Baulche in the north and north-east, Auxerre in the east, Chevannes in the south and Lindry in the west.
